Penguins and Elephant Sea Lions

To cap off a nature filled stay in Puerto Madryn, I visited a colony of magellanic penguins in Punta Tombo and an elephant sea lion colony in Punta Ninfas. Since then, I think elephant sea lions have become one of my top favourite mammals. The way they look, the noises they make, the way they move, are hilariously adorable. Magellanic penguins are wonderful animals too, although when I went there they were in the middle of nesting season, so most of their energy was devoted to looking for food or keeping their eggs warm in their nests. Here are my favourite photographs, lovingly edited, before I move on down the coast in Patagonia.
